You May Call Me Berry Old Fashioned

You May Call Me Berry Old Fashioned

The beauty of the Old Fashioned is just the starting point. Yes, the classic is great, but the addition of blackberries, star anise, and  sage give it oh so much more depth. This is a well balanced cocktail with the brightness of the berries, earthiness of the sage and slight licorice notes from the star anise (don’t worry the anise isn’t overpowering).  I also have a sugar free keto-friendly version below.

In a martini shaker muddle blackberries, add sage simple syrup, bitters, and bourbon; add ice; stir. In an Old Fashioned glass add cracked ice to within 1 inch of rim.
